Continental ContiComfortContact CC5

During the wee month of  March 2011, Continental introduces the latest pattern upgrade for one of its continuous production tyre model which is the ContiComfortContact or CC for short. The ideally name ContiComfortContact 5 (CC5) was the result of countless man hour invested for its research and development stage. During its testing stage, Continental claims that CC5 did not only excel beyond all expectations but also proven the effectiveness of Advanced Silica Compound Technology which was a compound engineered entirely by Continental’s Materials Engineering Department. Advanced Silica Compound Technology by its essence is a lightweight and durable compound that promises better millage as tyres with less weight aid better vehicle acceleration, lowers fuel consumptions, boosts engine power by maximizing the available engine torque output and more importantly, increases the vehicle stopping capability.

The Highlighted points shown on the picture represented the innovative feature on all Continental's tyre tread pattern, called the Noise Breaker, which engineered from Conti Silent Tread Pattern Groove Technology. The Noise Breaker reduces noise by degrading air waves in longitudinal grooves which is generated by the friction between the contact surface of the tyre against the asphalt or any paved roads

The highlighted shows the
V-Shaped Siped inner ribs, which in effect, smooths the tyre rolling throughout the tyre circumferential. The benefit from this pattern is enhancing optimum driving comfort topped with optimum safety performance.

CC5 is best suited for drivers who wanted more safety for a reasonable price. With all these added beneficial properties, surely CC5 could out perform any of its predecessors. Well judging by the tests conducted by Continental, CC5 shows significant improvement, in percentage we can see that;

  • Noise Generation was down by a whopping 10%
  • Comfort was increased by 7%
  • Rolling Resistance was increased by 9%
  • Dry and wet performance increased by 3% and 1% respectively

So, when its time for a change, why not give CC5 a thought? and not to mention, it is reasonably priced

  2. hi, I don't know about the GoodYears, but last week my local tyre dealer here in Melbourne talked me into putting Bridgestone ER 300s on my Audi A4, and they were hugely disappointing. Much louder than the Continental Premium Contacts I was replacing. So I went back to the dealer, paid $40 per tyre to swap to the Continental CC5 and the improvement is dramatic! These are the most quiet and the most comfortable tyres I've ever had. Cannot sing their praises loudly enough.
